Like most Bitcoin fans out there, I talk about Bitcoin a lot. From the person sitting next to me on the plane to the waiter serving my table drinks, every chance I get I end up talking about Bitcoin. This isn’t something I intentionally force on people, it’s something that just naturally ends up fitting into so many different conversations and every time a Bitcoin conversation starts, I eventually am asked the same question:
Wow. What a year it’s been! 2016 was full of exciting news in the world of cryptocurrency: we’ve seen continued innovation amidst the blockchain; we’ve seen a steady growth of Bitcoin and increasing global acceptance of the currency; and of course, we’ve seen a growth of Genesis Mining in both our bitcoin farm hardware and customer base.
2016 has been quite an eventful year: we’ve seen countries part ways, and countries make peace; we’ve seen banks and governments the world round dabbling in the blockchain for a variety of purposes; and we’ve seen Bitcoin come out on top again, for the second year in a row. But it wasn’t just a big year for Bitcoin: it was a year of advancement and growth for Genesis Mining, too. Let’s take a quick look at our biggest achievements of 2016.

We’re also happy to confirm for everyone who pre-ordered a 12(+1) month Zcash contract before launch that your mining hardware is directly joining the network as we speak.
Next up in our Altcoin Report series: Zcash. But first, we’re happy to announce that Zcash mining contracts are available for pre-order, in preparation for it’s launch on 28th October, 2016.
